この度、OPENに際しどうしても実現したかったことは、北海道で活躍する作家さんを有名、無名問わずに世界中の方々が行き交うこの場所で、ご紹介をできていく場所にしたかった。
Hello. I’m Ishida, the owner.
What I absolutely wanted to achieve with this opening was to create a place where we could introduce artists active in Hokkaido—whether famous or unknown—to people from all over the world who pass through here.
その第一弾の一つがMAKO2くんでした。彼とは家族の様な仲間からの誕生日プレゼントで作品を頂いたのがきっかでした。私の家族を温かく表現してくれた作品は今でも自宅で大切に飾られてます。
One of the first was MAKO2-kun. It all began when I received a piece of his work as a birthday present from friends who were like family. That piece, which warmly captured my family, is still treasured and displayed in my home.
そんな温かく、地元のストリートならではの出会いをした作家MAKO2。
MAKO2, the artist who had such a warm encounter unique to local streets.
第一弾の一つ目は彼にしたかったのです。

作品の紹介 Introduction to the Work
「North」
冬の夜中。
In the dead of winter.
北海道の野生動物が夜な夜な人間達が夜な夜な人間達から盗んできたカップラーメンを食べてる。人間達に見つかると、とっ捕まるし、無断で写真を撮ってくるから深夜が安心して食べられる。木が倒されて、住めるエリアも随分と狭くなったし食べ物も減った。そんな僕らの至福のひととき
Hokkaido’s wildlife feast night after night on cup noodles stolen from humans. If humans spot us, we’re caught and photographed without permission, so the dead of night is the only time we can eat in peace. Trees have been felled, shrinking our habitable areas considerably, and food has dwindled. Such is our moment of bliss.
みんなのリーダーくまさんは、”Wait 3 minutes” この食べ物はお湯を入れて3分待たなくてはいけない。僕のはうどんだから5分だけどね。焼きそば弁当の時は２分半が好みだ。と偉そうに言う。
Our leader, Mr Bear, says rather grandly, ‘Wait three minutes. This food needs hot water added and then three minutes’ waiting time. Mine’s udon, so it’s five minutes, mind. When it’s yakisoba bento, I prefer two and a half minutes.’

「SEA」
夏の昼の海。
The sea at midday in summer.
北海道の海でサーフィンを楽しむアイヌのおじちゃん。海の動物達も参加して楽しい時間。ただ海に浮かぶゴミだけが不満。ちょっとした不満が楽しい時間を台無しにしてしまう。
An Ainu gentleman enjoying surfing in the seas of Hokkaido. The sea creatures join in for a delightful time. Only the rubbish floating in the sea is a source of dissatisfaction. A minor annoyance spoils the enjoyable time.
アイヌのおじちゃんは、”Stay Clean” 浮いてるのはだいたいファンタオレンジなんだよなー
The Ainu old chap says, ‘Stay Clean’ The stuff floating about is mostly Fanta Orange, you know.

「ROAD」
夕方の農場。
The farm in the evening.
北海道の大地に道を作って開拓をする電気栽培士のビックフットさんは、いつも休憩中に北海道限定ビールを飲んでいる。今は何をするにも電気が必要な世の中。クリーンな世界を作るために木を切ってソーラーパネルを建てるけど、これは本当にクリーンなのかー？
Mr Bigfoot, the electrician who clears land and builds roads across Hokkaido’s vast terrain, always drinks Hokkaido-exclusive beer during his breaks. In today’s world, electricity is needed for everything. We cut down trees to build solar panels for a cleaner world, but is this truly clean?

MAKO2くんのご紹介をさせて頂きます。
Allow me to introduce MAKO2.
MAKO2
北海道苫小牧市生まれ、千歳市在住。幼少期から絵を描くのが好きで、教科書やノートなど身近なものへ”落書き”からスタートし、絵のスキルは独学で身につけたそうです。社会人になり一人暮らしをするようになってからは、ブラウン管のTVや家具などに描くようになり、MAKO2さん独自の世界観が発揮され、そこから友達の誕生日プレゼントにスケートデッキや靴、木の板などに描くようになったことで、主にポスカで描く今のスタイルが誕生。
Born in Tomakomai City, Hokkaido, and currently residing in Chitose City. From childhood, she loved drawing, starting with doodles in textbooks and notebooks, and taught herself her artistic skills. After entering the workforce and living alone, she began drawing on CRT televisions and furniture, where her unique worldview began to emerge. From there, she started drawing on skate decks, shoes, and wooden boards as birthday presents for friends, leading to the development of her current style, primarily using Posca markers.
2020年よりサラリーマン兼農家のアーティストとして札幌のアパレルショップRAGringeにて展示販売をスタートし、オーダーでのキャンバスアート作成
Since 2020, as an artist who is both a salaryman and a farmer, I have commenced exhibiting and selling works at the Sapporo apparel shop RAGringe, alongside creating bespoke canvas artworks to order.
MAKO2さんは、ストリートアート、スケートボードカルチャー、オカルト、都市伝説、SF映画、洋楽などからインスピレーションを得る。多くの作品からも垣間見ることが出来る。
MAKO2 draws inspiration from street art, skateboard culture, the occult, urban legends, science fiction films, and Western music. This is evident in many of his works.
また、とても愛猫家でもあるMAKO2。猫を題材にした作品も他するあり。
Moreover, MAKO2 is also a great lover of cats. She has also created works featuring cats as subjects.
作家活動のみならず Not only in literary pursuits
千歳郊外に引っ越しを決めたタイミングで、家庭農園をやることを決め、栽培方法などを自ら調べ、作るのであれば無農薬にしたいと思い、無農薬にこだわっているのもMAKO2さんらしさ
Upon deciding to move to the outskirts of Chitose, I resolved to start a home garden. I researched cultivation methods myself and, since I was going to grow things, I wanted them to be pesticide-free. This commitment to pesticide-free farming is very typical of MAKO2.
ただ農家をやるのではなく、イラストと農業を掛け合わせてカッコよくてオシャレな農家を目指しているMAKO2さん
MAKO2, who isn’t just running a farm, but aims to be a cool and stylish farmer by combining illustration with agriculture.
